So I do agree that love is free and love is not bound. But I also see love as a kind of prayer, a worship. I want to worship and I want to be worshipped in love. So I do believe that there is no love without devotion. But it's not exactly as toxic as it sounds and I can't really articulate it yet (because I haven't experienced it in its entirety). But I don't want love without devotion and neither do I want to love without being devoted.

Interesting dichotomy of thoughts. I did believe in love with devotion for a long time as well, and having experienced all sides of it, my thoughts over the years have changed. It has gone from a place of worship to one of home, if you get what I mean? Of how your home is there for you without the burden of the universe on your shoulders. One is very freeing.

Haha, not to be the devil's advocate but lately I have been quite (suddenly) opposed to making homes out of people/love. Home is the one place that is supposed to feel stable and secure and people can never be that (including ourselves). But also home has always felt very burdening to me. Practically, there is so much upkeep. And emotionally, oof it has always felt heavy. That's also why I don't want to associate love with that.

At this point I don't know much of what love really is anymore other than it is simple, nurturing, and peaceful. And sure. So damn sure.

But I also think you and I are actually trying to say the same thing but in different ways? Because of our experiences?

I love how you say home is supposed to feel stable and secure and people can never be that, while also saying you want to be worshipped in love. It’s funny because worship/prayer has always been associated with the feeling of safety, in the sense that believers want to feel calm and safe in the hands of their respective almighty AND almighty has been associated with the feeling of home.

You are right though, I guess we are trying to say similar if not the same thing. I pray (no pun intended) that you experience this devotion in love to be able to articulate this feeling better.

Thank you, that's very sweet of you. I'd come back and continue this conversation with you (if and when that happens) :)
